Bank account and credit card information for your seller account

When you register in Amazon as a seller, it is necessary to enter an internationally chargeable credit card with a valid billing address located in an eligible country. Upon completion of registration, your credit card will be charged the monthly fee (if applicable) or USD $1 (excl. VAT) to validate the credit card. Use this tool below to know why your credit card information might be invalid and to update your credit card:

Update your credit card information

If you have received an error message about your credit card, it is important to update your credit card information as soon as possible.

Check the below information related to your credit card:

  • Is the credit card valid?
  • Is there a minimum charge amount?
  • Are you using a pre-paid card? (Note: Use of a pre-paid card is not accepted for a selling account.)
  • Does the bank have a record of the charge attempt?
  • Are there bank limits or policies that prevent the charge attempt from being authorized?
  • Is there any incorrect credit card information entered? (Note: All the credit card information entered such as number, name, address, ZIP code, or expiration date must be an exact match with your card details.)
  • Is this chargeable in the currency of the Amazon marketplace where you registered your seller account?
Until the card verification problem is resolved, Amazon won't be able to process any payments for your account.

Note: Only the primary account owner can make changes related to payment information.

In some instances, you may be redirected to financial institution to verify your card with a security challenge, prior to being redirected back to Amazon. A separate security challenge you may need to address to verify you are the card holder for each card you provide to Amazon, and for each marketplace you wish to sell in. Note: We may periodically run a validation check on your credit card.

 

Accepted credit cards

We accept the following credit cards:

Note: We do not accept alternative charge methods, such as prepaid credit cards, gift certificates, checks, or online payment systems like PayPal.
You cannot delete the credit card that is your designated charge method, but you can add a new card or select a different card from the list of cards you have entered in your seller account.

 

If you have a positive settlement balance, Amazon will deposit the money into your bank account. We cannot transfer funds to your credit card. We may charge this credit card if you have a negative settlement balance.
