Order notes appear on an order's details screen, and they're useful for attaching additional information about an order.

If a customer gives you special instructions, or there's anything about a specific order that you or your staff need to remember, then you can attach a note to the order during checkout. You can also add a note to a completed order from the Shopify POS Orders screen at a later time.

Notes are generally for internal use. If you want to show order notes to a customer, then you can include them on your receipts.

Add a note to an order that's still in the cart

To add a note to an order during checkout, follow these steps:

  1. From within the cart, tap the More actions button.

  2. Tap Add Note.

  3. Enter your note, and then tap Save.

Edit a note

To edit a note from an order while it's still in the cart, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Edit note.

  2. Enter your changes now. Tap Save to update the note.

Delete a note

To delete a note from an order, follow these steps:

  1. Tap Edit note.

  2. Tap Delete note.
