How long does it take to receive funding from Shopify Capital?
After you've looked at your pre-qualified amounts and requested the best one for you, you'll find out whether your request is approved within 2-5 business days. If your request is approved, then you could receive the funding in your bank account as soon as the next business day.
Can anyone apply for funding from Shopify Capital?
No. If you're eligible to request funding, then you're invited to view your funding options. Only merchants who are offered funding can request funding from Shopify Capital.
How do I know if I'm eligible for funding?
If Shopify Capital has found that you're eligible to request funding, then you'll receive an email and a message in your Shopify admin inviting you to view your pre-qualified amounts. If you haven't been invited to view your funding options, then you're not currently eligible for funding.
How does Shopify Capital decide whether I'm eligible to request funding?
Currently, the main criteria for eligibility include:
Your store is located in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
Your business has a low risk profile.
Your store has Shopify Payments or another third-party payment provider enabled.
Your store processes a certain amount of sales.
Shopify Capital is continuously assessing stores and making offers of funding. If your store isn't eligible now, then it might be in the future.
How long is my pre-qualified amount valid?
Shopify Capital funding offers are generally valid for 30 days but are constantly reassessed. A pre-qualified amount can increase, decrease, or be revoked at any time.
What happens if my pre-qualified amounts expire?
If a pre-qualified amount expires, then you can't request that pre-qualified amount anymore and it is removed from your Capital page. If you still pre-qualify for funding, then your pre-qualified amounts are displayed in place of the expired ones. If you don't currently pre-qualify then none are displayed on the Capital page.
How much might Shopify Capital offer?
Shopify Capital offers funding amounts between $200 to $2,000,000 USD or $200 to $2,000,000 CAD.
Can I negotiate my pre-qualified amounts?
No. The terms of your funding options are determined by Shopify Capital's underwriting process, and they can't be negotiated or adjusted.
Can I get additional funding?
Possibly. After receiving funding from Shopify Capital, some merchants are eligible to secure more funding. If this is the case for you, then you're notified by email.
Why was my pre-qualified amount revised after I requested funding?
Shopify Capital reviews all funding requests. During the review of your application, we revised the pre-qualified amount that you applied for to better suit the needs of your business.
There are two stages to the Shopify Capital underwriting process. During the first stage, your shop was flagged as potentially eligible to pre-qualify for funding. During the second stage, the Shopify Capital team looked at your shop’s application and found that your shop wasn’t eligible to receive the amount of funding that you requested. They revised the pre-qualified amounts available for your shop to suit your business needs.
