Business financing options from third-party lenders

We partner with third-party lenders who may be able to help provide business financing options to sellers who meet specific business requirements, to help these sellers grow their business on Amazon.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Which US third-party lenders are participating in the program?

In the US, there is currently one active third-party lender participating in the program, Marcus by Goldman Sachs, who has a line of credit product available by invitation.

Where are the business financing options displayed?

For sellers with business financing options, they can view available options when they are signed into their Seller Central account.

Is the program available to all sellers?

This program is available only to sellers who meet the criteria determined by the third-party lender.

Which products are available through the program?

At this time, the Marcus Business Line of Credit is the only product available to qualifying US-based businesses on Amazon.

Who is involved with the loan agreement?

The seller will sign a loan agreement directly with the third-party lender. Amazon will not be a party to such agreement.

Why is locking a bank account required? How does it happen?

Locking the business bank account may be a prerequisite from the third-party lender. Once it is locked, the third-party lender verifies it matches what was provided in the loan application. The account on file with Amazon cannot be changed after this step.

In order to lock the account, visit the approved application in Seller Central and refer to the section labeled ‘Applications in progress’. Click the ‘Lock account’ button and follow the steps that appear onscreen.

Note: This account will remain locked until the loan is paid in full and the loan is closed. For any issues during this process, please contact amazon-lending@amazon.com.

How does the bank account unlock?

The account will be automatically unlocked once the third-party lender confirms that the loan has been paid in full. If the loan is closed, but a bank account remains locked, send an email to amazon-lending@amazon.com with the request and a copy of the payoff letter from the third-party lender that the account has been paid off.

Why is the third-party lender requiring additional information or documentation for the application process?

Since the loan is extended by the third-party lender, they determine what information they need to process an application.

Will any data on Amazon be shared with the third-party lenders? If yes, what data?

No personal information will be shared. We take your explicit consent before sharing any data. We will share your business’s sales and performance data on Amazon.com with the third-party lender after receiving your consent.

Prior to being redirected to a third-party lender’s site to apply for a loan, you will be asked in Seller Central whether you agree to share your business’s sales data with this third-party lender.

If you do not want to share your business’s sales data, you may click ‘Cancel’. You will not proceed to the application page on the third-party lender’s site and no data will be shared. If you agree to share, we will share your business’s sales data on Amazon.com with the third-party lender.

Will the third-party lenders share any personal information used in the application process with Amazon?

Amazon does not ask the third-party lenders for your personal information, including your personal identity information, biggest shareholder, or loan guarantor, nor does Amazon ask for your contact information such as phone number, email, and address.
